Arduino101:
An introductory class that will introduce students to the Arduino Duemilanove.  Arduino is an open-source electronics platform for prototyping that uses basic and extremely flexible hardware and software.  Arduino can be wired and programmed to engage a variety of sensors for controlling LEDs, motors, switches, and a plethora of other actuators.

This class will focus on getting students comfortable and familiar with soldering, components and electronic theory.  The class will build a full Arduino Duemilanove from a d.u.s.t. provided kit and will leave at the end of the day with both a completed project and the essential foundation knowledge of the Arduino programming language (based on Wiring).

The Arduino Duemilanove applications covered in this introduction class will include the demoing of basic LED control, analog input through potentiometers, digital control through switches/buttons and sensor input.

The Arduino Duemilanove is the perfect platform for artists looking to create standalone interactive installations, performance interfaces for both music and visuals as well as for the tinkerer at heart seeking to expand their toolset quickly and with robust results.
